

Secondary Curriculum
HISV’s Secondary Department serves students aged 11–17+, covering Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7–11) and Key Stage 5 (Years 12-13). students undertake IGCSE courses in Years 10–11, and A Levels in Years 12-13. The curriculum builds on Primary foundations, preparing students academically, socially and emotionally for higher education.
Curriculum Pathway
HISV follows the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC), a modern and holistic framework that places wellbeing, global skills and academic rigor at the heart of learning. Together, these subjects create a balanced, engaging curriculum that nurtures academic growth and emotional development.

Key Stage 3
“ Years 7–9 ”
Students continue the Oxford International Curriculum, strengthening knowledge and skills from Primary while preparing for IGCSE challenges.

Key Stage 4
“ Years 10–11 ”
Students follow the IGCSE programme, selecting from 11 Oxford AQA subjects to suit their interests and abilities. Courses develop subject mastery, exam skills and independent learning.

Key Stage 5
“ Years 12–Beyond ”
Students choose A Level courses from 11 Oxford AQA subjects, equipping them for university study worldwide.
Academic Development

Focus on academic independence, higher-level thinking, personal responsibility and social-emotional maturity, preparing students for university, careers, and adult life.
02. English Proficiency and Communication
Emphasises oral and written communication, public speaking and cross-subject language skills.
Global & Personal Skills
Global Skills and Citizenship
Students develop empathy, teamwork, leadership and global awareness through GSP, community projects, fundraising, and awareness campaigns.
Career Counselling and Guidance
Provides personalized guidance on students’ strengths, subject selection, university pathways, future career planning and academic goal setting.
Extra Curricular Opportunities
HISV offers a wide range of activities to support students’ holistic development, including Physical Education, Art, Music and languages. Younger Secondary students (Years 7–9) participate in weekly elective and required clubs such as Road Safety, Health & Nutrition and Social & Emotional Skills Development, helping them build life skills, awareness and personal wellbeing.

Leadership and School Involvement
All Secondary students have opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork and responsibility through involvement in sports teams and the Student Council. Upper Secondary students can further contribute to school culture by joining the Yearbook Committee or Morning Announcement Committee, fostering creativity, communication and skills essential for future success.
